Dune: Awakening release delayed by three weeks

If you’re excited about Dune: Awakening, a game for sci-fi enthusiasts, you might need to wait a bit longer than initially expected. The release date has been pushed back from May 20, 2025, to June 10, 2025, on PC. Previously scheduled Advanced Access will now start on June 5 instead.

To address the delay, the developers explained they required “slightly longer to prepare” in order to implement “much more of the valuable feedback from our beta testers.

Funcom expressed that they aren’t making this decision lightly, as they understand everyone is eager to start playing. However, these additional three weeks will provide them with the necessary time to implement changes aimed at enhancing the initial gameplay experience.

For those eagerly anticipating the game’s release, there’s some exciting news: Due to the delay in the full launch, Funcom is planning a beta weekend in May, giving even more players a chance to experience the game and offer their feedback. They will be sharing more details about this test session shortly.

Dune: Awakening is planned to debut on PC first, followed by console releases at a later point. This survival-crafting MMO takes place on the well-known desert planet of Arrakis, but not in the familiar timeline from the Dune books or films. However, one key element remains consistent: The desolate world is where Spice, a vital and highly valuable resource, can be found. Entire wars are being waged over this substance because whoever controls the Spice, controls the universe.

Funcom encourages players to create guilds and partnerships, weave plots and backstab one another, and engage in colossal battles amidst the sandy landscapes.
