This week, Bravo brought back the second season of ‘The Valley’, featuring ex-pair Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. On its Tuesday night airing, viewers got a glimpse into the complicated aftermath of their split.
Approaching the nine-month mark, Jax (age 45) and Brittany (age 36) have been on a marital hiatus, as per Jax’s accounts, their situation isn’t thriving, and they both have permission to pursue romantic interests with others.
In a heartfelt conversation, Jax openly expressed his feelings, saying, “It’s so poisonous. It’s so damaged,” before disclosing that Brittany had messaged him about fixing their marriage. However, he became distraught after viewing a video she had sent to another man. Later, Brittany confided in the cameras that just when they seemed to be making progress, “all hell broke loose,” an event that drastically “altered everything.
The story unfolded when Jax found conversations between Brittany and her friend Julien on the iPad of their young son, Cruz (who is 4 years old).
Addressing Michelle Saniei, Brittany asserted that Jax had knocked over the coffee table, which then struck her knee. The impact caused it to turn black instantaneously. She found herself in a state of panic and tears, as the situation was absolutely petrifying.
Brittany openly shared her concern about allowing Cruz to spend time with Jax alone, as she fears his anger has escalated significantly. In her opinion, the star of Vanderpump Rules should curb his excessive partying habits, as these wild nights often lead to their most intense arguments yet.
Jax confessed that they both consented to see other people, but what really stung was learning that Brittany was dating someone he considered a close friend. “Julian and I were more than just acquaintances; we spent a lot of time together,” he explained. “Yet, it turned out she had been seeing him, unbeknownst to me.
Additionally, he admitted that he became extremely angry and out of control, almost to the point of being unmanageable, after reading the conversation between the two individuals. He expressed this to Jesse Lally, who advised him to consider their child before taking any actions.
Jax later admitted, “What I did was wrong. I lost all control.”
In the later part of the show, Jax encountered his ex-castmate from Vanderpump Rules, Tom Schwartz, who voiced deep worries about Jax’s mental wellbeing. “Your recent actions seem to be pushing you towards disaster,” Tom cautioned. “I have a feeling that unless you reach out for assistance, perhaps through counseling or therapy…
Jax admitted as much, stating that he was feeling quite low, and disliked returning to a home that felt deserted.
Previously, Jax had a 30-day stay at a residential rehabilitation facility because of his battles against cocaine addiction. Recently, he announced that he’s been substance-free for 83 days, abstaining from both cocaine and alcohol use.
