An overview of the “King of a Faraway Land” event quest in Monster Hunter Worlds, detailing its prerequisites, compensation, and other essential facts.
Among the event quests in Monster Hunter Wilds, the King of a Faraway Land stands out as one of the toughest yet. Though previous event quests were tougher than those in the base game, this latest series ratchets up the difficulty even further. The King of a Faraway Land forces you to confront a supercharged version of the Guardian Rathalos, which can be considered a high-level incarnation of the beast. Regular Guardian Rathalos are already formidable opponents in High Rank, but the Tempered variety presents an even greater challenge. This enhanced version boasts increased health and defense, and it dishes out more damage as well.
If you’ve nearly reached the pinnacle of the high-rank gameplay in Monster Hunter Worlds, make sure not to skip the King of a Faraway Land event quest. Here’s all you need to know about it.
Requirements for King of a Faraway Land Event Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds
As a seasoned gamer in the realm of Monster Hunter Wilds, I’ve come across an intriguing adventure: The King of a Faraway Land. This epic quest becomes accessible once I hit Hunter Rank (HR) 31. To initiate this quest, simply chat up Alma and head over to the Event Quests tab.
However, take heed! This event is time-bound and will only be available until April 16, 2025. If you haven’t wrapped up the main campaign yet, it might take some gameplay hours to reach HR 31. The path there involves slaying and capturing monsters across the Low Rank and High Rank campaigns.
Once in the High Rank, you’ll need to conquer a few Tempered Monster hunting quests before reaching HR 31. So buckle up, fellow Hunter, and let’s embark on this extraordinary journey together!
Furthermore, remember that the King of a Faraway Land becomes accessible at HR 31. However, it’s wise to complete this quest once you’ve solidified your endgame build. Keep in mind that Tempered Guardian Rathalos and other tempered monsters are noticeably stronger than their standard versions. To ensure a fair fight, approach the event quest with a well-prepared build. As for weapons, consider using a Great Sword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Bow, or Heavy Bowgun.
To put it simply, here are the essentials for completing the “King of a Faraway Land” event quest:
This way, we maintain a conversational tone while keeping the information clear and concise.
- Complete Low Rank campaign.
- Progress through High Rank campaign and reach HR 31.
- At HR 31, talk to Alma to start the event quest.
Tips To Easily Complete the King of a Faraway Land Event Quest
The original Guardian Rathalos is already formidably tough, but the Tempered version takes it up a notch in terms of challenge. Not only does this monster inflict more damage with its attacks, but it also remains in an enraged state for extended periods. This means you’ll have to contend with the Rathalos flying around for much longer. Fortunately, the Tempered Guardian Rathalos retains the same weaknesses as the standard version. In fact, by strategically employing your weapon and armor abilities, you can defeat the Tempered Guardian Rathalos quicker than its regular counterpart. Before embarking on this quest, ensure you have these items with you:
- Flash Pod
- Shock Trap
- Pitfall Trap
- Armorskin (Optional)
Among all items, the Flash Pod is indispensable when battling either Guardian Rathalos or regular Rathalos. The main challenge melee weapon users encounter during these fights is that Rathalos spends a large portion of the battle in mid-air, making it difficult to hit and keep tabs on him. However, when Rathalos is airborne, throwing a Flash Pod near it will instantly force it to fall to the ground. This not only simplifies the fight against the Aerial Wyvern but also inflicts damage upon it. Additionally, Shock Traps or Pitfall Traps can be employed to immobilize the monster and cause harm to its head or tail.
Keep in mind that damaging Rathalos’ wings will decrease the number of times it uses flying breath attacks. Similarly, hitting its tail will lessen the occurrence of its charging attacks.
Rewards for the Completing King of a Faraway Land Event Quest
To finish the “King of a Faraway Land” event quest, you’ll receive not just Guardian Rathalos components but also Artian Parts. These Artian Parts prove particularly beneficial during the latter stages of Monster Hunter Wilds’ High Rank campaign. However, it’s worth noting that the Artian Parts acquired from completing this quest are of Rarity 7, which are useful only until HR 40. Once you reach HR 40, you can utilize these parts to craft Rarity 7 Artian Weapons and then dismantle them for spare components.
