Is Blake Lively Being Protected by Movie Studio Amid Justin Baldoni Drama? Tell-Tale Sign Raises Eyebrows

Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer for the upcoming movie “Another Simple Favor,” featuring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. But interestingly, the studio chose an unusual strategy, making some curious about whether this move aimed to shield Lively from possible criticism before the film’s release on the platform.

In the follow-up to Simple Favor, Lively resumed her character as Emily Nelson, a PR director for a fashion brand. Her previous movie, IEWU, was a box office hit, but it was marred when she sued Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment, inappropriate behavior on set, and initiating an alleged smear campaign against her, among other charges.

In reaction to a lawsuit filed by her, the former star of Jane the Virgin took legal action against the New York Times for libel over an article published concerning Lively’s accusations. The actor-director had refuted all allegations and subsequently filed another lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion.

According to him, Reynolds and Lively exploited their relationship with Taylor Swift to take charge of the creative aspects during filming, when he was still the director. Bryan Freedman, his legal representative, provided statements to the press, leaked unrequested footage from the set, and shared text messages that portrayed the actress negatively.

In a bid to disprove the allegations about harassment, he shared videos of a mother of four dancing on the movie set. Lately, the actress seems uninterested in the court case and has instead been focusing on promoting her upcoming movie.

In the follow-up, Kendrick once again takes on the character of Stephanie Smothers, the single mom vlogger. The ensemble includes Henry Golding, Taylor Ortega, and Michele Morrone. You can catch Another Simple Favor starting from May 1st on Prime Video.
