The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered leaks detail platforms, visual upgrades

There’s been a lot of talk about a revamped edition of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, and recent leaks appear to be suggesting that it’s actually in development.

On the official website of game developer Virtuos, a collection of in-game snapshots, pre-order visuals, and comparisons between the 2006 original and the remastered edition were posted. These unprotected files were soon spotted by dedicated fans who shared their discoveries on Reddit. In response to this leak, Virtuos swiftly removed the assets from its site.

Based on leaked information, it appears that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is set for a significant graphical enhancement compared to its original version. The side-by-side comparisons are particularly striking, suggesting an upgrade that may exceed the expectations of many fans who had heard rumors about it.

The logos on the game’s assets suggest it will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it appears that players can also enjoy it through Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, a Deluxe Edition is offered, which includes various content bonuses, including horse armor – a reference to the DLC that spawned numerous memes and remains a notorious example of microtransactions and mini-expansions in full-priced video games for some gamers.

Although no specific launch date for Oblivion Remastered has been disclosed yet, the preparation of Virtuos to refresh their portfolio with completed work on this game implies that an official announcement may be coming up sooner, rather than later.
