Nick Carter Reacts to Allegations of Giving Woman STDs That Led to Cervical Cancer: ‘Utterly False Claims’

A fourth individual has made sexual assault accusations against Nick Carter, as stated in a recent civil lawsuit filed in Nevada. Laura Penly, the accuser, claims that Carter intentionally infected her with sexually transmitted diseases, which eventually resulted in cervical cancer. However, Carter, aged 45, has firmly denied these allegations through a statement issued by his legal team.

According to a lawsuit spanning 10 pages, which Rolling Stone acquired, Penly asserted that the incidents of assault occurred in two separate visits to Carter’s Hollywood apartment in Los Angeles back in 2005. She initially consented to sexual encounters with Carter on three occasions, but during a later visit, she claimed that the situation became violent.

According to the lawsuit, Penly asserted that even though she explicitly stated she only wanted to watch a movie with Carter and not engage in sexual activity, the singer persisted despite her refusal. She claimed that he forcibly had sex with her against her will by pushing her onto the bed, bending her over, and ignoring her resistance. Moreover, she alleged that he did not use a condom during the incident, as stated in the lawsuit.

Two months following Carter’s apology and request for another meeting with Penly, a second alleged attack occurred. According to the lawsuit, this event transpired at an apartment on Hollywood Boulevard, which, in Penly’s belief, belonged to the singer at that time.

According to her court case, Penly claims that Carter gave her several sexually transmitted infections, one of which is Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a condition linked to health issues like cervical cancer.

In July 2005, it’s reported that Penly had both chlamydia and gonorrhoea, and in August, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Cervical Cancer. Currently, she is requesting a jury trial and aims to receive compensation exceeding $15,000.

Carter’s legal representatives, Liane K. Wakayama and Dale Hayes, Jr., issued a statement refuting the allegations in the lawsuit. The statement stated, “This is simply more of the same baseless accusations from the group of conspirators and their lawyers who keep misusing the judicial system in an attempt to harm Nick Carter.

The lawyers added that the legal action follows a familiar pattern, as the plaintiff delays filing the lawsuit for many years, only to later shield themselves by using litigation privilege to make baseless accusations aimed at causing significant harm.
