Bit Reactor’s take on Star Wars XCOM is called Zero Company

At long last, Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment have officially unveiled the title for their collaborative Star Wars venture: Project Zero Company.

Star Wars: Zero Company presents a unique, single-player turn-based strategy experience where you’ll gather an irregular squad of operatives and embark on extraordinary missions set amidst the Clone Wars.

From a fan’s perspective, it’s no hidden fact that Bit Reactor is a studio brimming with veterans from the renowned Firaxis team, who have collectively contributed to the success of the acclaimed XCOM series. On their official website, they clearly articulate their intention to create turn-based tactical games. Chats with some developers have hinted at this as well, suggesting that their upcoming game will likely be available on both PC and console platforms.

The art piece unveiled with the title reveal features a selection of characters players can potentially recruit. These range from a character resembling a marksman, a Jedi Knight, a clone soldier, a robot droid reminiscent of an astromech, a Mandalorian combatant, and a man dressed in attire suggestive of a smuggler. He’s seen holding a hologram depicting a B1 Battle Droid. If it weren’t known that the game is set during the Clone Wars, several aspects of this artwork would likely have hinted at this fact.

Among the relatively small number of Star Wars video games currently in development, Zero Company stands out as one that has consistently moved forward without encountering delays or cancellations like the first-person shooter project by Respawn Entertainment.

Details regarding the game will be disclosed during a panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025. Even though it won’t be live-streamed, information is likely to spread quickly on the internet soon after.
