TWILIGHT In Concert Will Tour 60 Cities Across the U.S.

Can you imagine it? As a devoted “Twilight” fan, I’m simply amazed that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the captivating tale of Edward and Bella! Remember when Stephanie Meyer’s cultural phenomenon first graced our bookshelves in 2005, with the movie adaptation following closely in 2008?

To commemorate this special occasion, Lionsgate Films has shared some exciting news via Variety. They’re launching GEA Live’s nationwide “Twilight” Concert tour across the U.S! The tour kicks off with a sneak peek in Spokane, Washington on September 12th, and officially opens in Seattle on September 13th, which happens to be “National Twilighters Day.” In total, the tour will visit an incredible 60 cities nationwide.

For this extensive “Twilight” concert tour, the musicians will play the movie’s soundtrack alongside the original film as it plays in full on big screens. To enhance the romantic atmosphere, over a thousand candles will cast their soft glow on the stage. As we reach the 20-year milestone, the “Twilight” series has become a source of nostalgia. It seems like just yesterday when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were the center of all media buzz. Despite our own aging, Edward and Bella continue to exist in an eternal teenage realm.

Regardless of personal feelings towards it, the “Twilight” series stands as one of the most lucrative film franchises ever produced. Across only five movies, this collection generated over $3.3 billion in revenue. Beyond its financial triumph, it significantly impacted pop culture. “Twilight” marked a shift in the film industry where studios started favoring established intellectual properties (IP) with lesser-known talents (or relatively unknown figures), rather than investing heavily in big stars. The fanaticism surrounding this series reached unprecedented heights, as evidenced by fans camping out overnight at Comic-Con events, which subsequently brought the convention into mainstream consciousness. This trend also paved the way for other successful franchises based on young adult novels, such as “The Hunger Games”. For many, “Twilight” serves as their primary reference when it comes to vampires; Dracula, anyone?
