Katy Perry, famous pop star, blasted her iconic ‘Roar’ into the cosmos! She was among an all-female team that embarked on a space journey through Jeff Bezos’ company, Blue Origin. Joining Perry were CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King, Bezos’ partner Lauren Sánchez, activist Amanda Nguyen, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and they all traveled together into the final frontier.

On Monday, April 14, at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time, a remarkable spacecraft blasted off from the company’s launch site in West Texas. According to Variety, this vehicle has already climbed over 62 miles above the Earth and crossed the Kármán line.

The line is identified as the global border for outer space. Blue Origin guarantees that travelers will enjoy several minutes of feeling weightless and observe awe-inspiring sights of our planet from above.

The passenger capsule, attached by three parachutes, descended later on, following the launch of the self-governing New Shepard rocket that doesn’t necessitate a human pilot or crew to control its engine directly.

Apart from that, she additionally posted a snippet on her Instagram, showcasing a prior interview recording with CBS. During the conversation, she expressed, “I need to sing in space.” However, Perry emphasized that this space performance wouldn’t center around herself, but rather celebrate our beautiful Earth.

“I think from up there, we will think, ‘Oh my God, we have to protect our mother,’” she added.
