Post Malone has confirmed that he is currently in the process of creating a new album. In an interview with Billboard over the weekend at Coachella 2025, the artist who once specialized in rap but now leans towards country music, shared that he’s already recorded approximately 35 tracks for this upcoming project. Laughing, he quipped, “I guess it’s about deciding which ones are hits and which ones aren’t.
This news emerged barely over a year since Malone unveiled his critically acclaimed country album F-1 Trillion. The album boasted popular tracks such as I Had Some Help with Morgan Wallen and partnerships with renowned artists like Dolly Parton, Luke Combs, Blake Shelton, and Lainey Wilson.
On the evening of April 13th (Sunday), Post Malone concluded the opening weekend of Coachella by headlining the festival for the first time in his career. Contrary to what some might think, he didn’t sing any new songs from his upcoming album during the performance; however, he chuckled when asked about it, hinting that he’s been busy in Nashville recently working on this fresh project instead.
He expressed his enthusiasm about the forthcoming album, saying, “We primarily engage in heart-to-heart conversations and create melodies. I’m already quite thrilled about the new release.” Recently, he has been collaborating with artists like Ernest, Hardy, and Thomas Rhett within the country music genre, and he affirmed that this upcoming album will further delve into his exploration of country tunes.
Malone pointed out that his group has previously recorded numerous songs, and right now, they’re fine-tuning them with temporary vocals. He expressed admiration for their performance, saying it’s outstanding. Interestingly, he typically doesn’t enjoy listening to his own music, but when he hears the band play, it genuinely stirs up his enthusiasm.
Looking back on his path towards country music, Malone remembered mentioning in an interview that he’d release a country album by age 30, but surprisingly found himself doing so at 29 instead. He shared that this choice felt organic, and he just sensed it was the perfect moment to venture to Nashville and give it a shot.
Since the year 2022, Post Malone has been putting out an album each year, and he expressed his intention to maintain this trend. When inquired about future music plans, he stated, “I hope so. We’re going to be releasing some new music really soon.
As a lifestyle expert, here’s how I would rephrase it: Following the thrilling Coachella experience, I’ll be immediately returning to my studio. “The day after my performance, I’m focusing on recording vocals,” I shared. I’m also eagerly preparing for my inaugural stadium tour, The Big Ass World Tour, which kicks off later this year, alongside Jelly Roll.
