The Last of Us Season 2: Bella Ramsey Opens Up About Ellie’s First Kiss With Isabela Merced’s Dina, Says, ‘Is This Really Happening?’

The second season of The Last of Us has finally been released, captivating viewers so much that they can’t look away – an experience shared by Bella Ramsey, who portrays Ellie in the series. Notably, Bella recently discussed a pivotal scene from the game where her character, Ellie, shares a kiss with a fresh character named Dina.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Dina is portrayed by the talented actress Isabela Merced. Towards the finale of the initial episode, the people of Jackson congregate at a nearby church for a New Year’s Eve celebration. It is here that Din and Ellie dance, eventually sharing their first kiss, which was filmed in a manner similar to the game.

Discussing a romantic moment between her character Ellie and Dina, Bella Ramsey explained, “Ellie believes Dina is straight and involved with Jesse. Moreover, Ellie’s character harbors strong feelings for Dina but is terrified of them.” It’s worth noting that Ellie fears she may jeopardize a cherished friendship due to these emotions.

As Bella Ramsey explained during the dance scene, there was an element of self-preservation in wanting to understand Dina’s feelings before taking any action. Even after Dina begins showing signs of interest in Ellie, Bella Ramsey admitted that she remains perplexed by the situation.

Additionally, as Isabela Merced’s character Dina leans in for a kiss with Ellie, the actor conveyed that her character was perplexed, questioning internally if the situation was truly unfolding.

Speaking with Variety about her latest filming location, Bella Ramsey expressed her awe by saying, “Walking onto the set was like, wow.” She further explained that despite not having played the game before, the set had an uncanny resemblance to it, which aided her in fully embracing the scene where she kissed Merced.
