On Monday, pop star Katy Perry, along with broadcast journalist Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez, who is engaged to Jeff Bezos, are set to embark on a space voyage organized by Blue Origin. This space trip is intended for business ventures and fostering the development of the burgeoning space tourism sector.
During a chat with Elle, the musician disclosed her long-held ambition of venturing into space over the past 20 years, aiming to infuse it with glamour. This artistic visionary additionally expressed her fascination with astronomy and physics, eagerly anticipating the chance to embark on a space voyage.
Speaking to Associated Press about her passion for space exploration, Perry expressed that she’s had a lifelong fascination with “cosmic physics, celestial observation, and astrology,” and aims to motivate young girls by saying, “I aspire to encourage them to dream, ‘One day, I will travel to space.’
The space team shared with news outlets their goal to encourage greater female participation in astronomy. They pointed out that currently, just 11% of those venturing into space are women.
For the upcoming phase of our expedition, we anticipate it will continue for approximately 11 minutes and venture roughly 62 miles beyond the Karman Line.
During lift-off, the team should experience brief periods of weightlessness. Notably, this flight won’t have any pilots aboard; instead, it will operate autonomously.
Celebrity responses to space travel have been varied. On a recent episode of “Jenna with Friends” on The Today Show, Olivia Munn expressed her viewpoint, stating, “It’s such an enormous amount of money to go into space.” She further described the journey as “excessive.
She also pointed out that some members of our community struggle to access standard facilities due to financial constraints.
