New ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Anime Revealed with First Image and Story Details

A brand-new Ghost in the Shell anime is coming, and we just got our first look at it!

On April 12th, Science SARU, the animation team behind “Dandadan”, revealed a fresh image suggesting a visual style for the upcoming anime that appears to closely resemble the original manga.

Although the anime’s final name hasn’t been announced yet, some of its creative minds have been revealed. Mokochan serves as the director, EnJoe Toh takes on the role of writer, and Shuhei Handa is responsible for the character designs.

The upcoming tale unfolds towards the end of this century, set in a world where the boundary between humans and technology has blurred significantly.

The principal figure, Major Motoko Kusanagi, serves as a formidable cybernetic operative. Her assignment involves tracking down the deadliest and most cunning cyber-outlaws and terrorists. Among these adversaries are the “ghostly hackers”, capable of infiltrating both minds and technological systems.
