I’ve found myself in the midst of a significant wave of criticism following a string of questionable and disrespectful statements I made on social media last night. On X (formerly Twitter), I shared posts containing inappropriate comments about Taylor Swift, as well as a concerning suggestion about a past incident involving my ex-wife Kim Kardashian and Ray J.
In a single tweet, Kanye claimed, “Here’s an instance of how racism manifests. Justin Bieber and Harry Styles allegedly dated Taylor Swift without involving me in the loop. Yet, they never reached out to me. I guess it’s because I can’t retain information.” He further emphasized, “This tweet is 100% accurate on every point.
Just a short while later, Kanye posted again with the message, “I’m upset that I haven’t slept with Taylor Swift…yet.” These messages were quickly removed, but images of them spread rapidly on various social media platforms.
The comments arise following Kanye’s rekindling of his prolonged conflict with Taylor Swift. Lately, he asserted that her involvement could be the explanation behind his repeated exclusion from performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
He asserted (in a subsequently removed post) that his absence from the Super Bowl stages was due to three specific occurrences: his “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” remark, the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift, and donning a MAGA cap.
In a highly debated instance, Kanye West posted about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on social media, stating: “Kim Kardashian was my babysitter.” He further mentioned, “I suggested to Ray J that we should approach Kim for another ‘Superstar’ collaboration, in reference to the leaked tape they made together in 2007.” This post was subsequently removed.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are parents to four kids: North (aged 11), Saint (aged 9), Chicago (aged 7), and Psalm (aged 5). Their marriage spanned from the year 2014 until their divorce in 2022.
Since 2009, Kanye West and Taylor Swift have experienced a tumultuous relationship, marked by the incident where he interrupted her acceptance speech at the VMAs. Although it appeared they found common ground later on, their bond was strained once more following the release of his 2016 song “Famous,” which contained the line, “I made that woman famous.
Initially, Taylor Swift’s spokesperson shared that Kanye West hadn’t contacted her for approval but had requested she tweet about his song Famous. However, later on, Taylor expressed her desire to not be associated with the storyline, one that she never sought to be a part of since 2009, as reported by E! News.
During the 2025 Super Bowl, Kanye West made a brief appearance in an advertisement for his Yeezy brand, showcasing a single product – a white tee emblazoned with a symbol often associated with a controversial historical flag (black swastika).
