The White Lotus Season 3: Patrick Schwarzenegger Reacts to Aimee Lou Wood’s Tragic Fate in Show; ‘I Felt So…’

Spoiler alert for The White Lotus season 3.

Patrick Schwarzenegger expressed sadness over Aimee Lou Wood’s character, Chelsea’s fate in the third season of The White Lotus. In an interview on Today with Jenna & Friends, he voiced his feelings about the character’s heartbreaking demise at the series finale, admitting that it left him feeling remorseful.

In simpler terms, the actor expressed remorse and shared that he believed his character should have suffered that outcome more than hers. When speaking about his role in the series, he mentioned that he had hoped Saxon would sacrifice himself for her character, as portrayed in Sex Education.

In addition, the actor couldn’t help but express enthusiasm about collaborating with Wood, referring to her as a “wonderful colleague on set and a delight to work with.” Despite the ambiguous emotions stirred by Chelsea’s character arc, he still lauded the series creator, Mike White.

Considering his character Saxon, Schwarzenegger expressed satisfaction with the development of his role in the series. He felt that what began as a single-note character evolved into exploring various destinations by the finale.

He shared that he faced strong dislike and intense disapproval, but when speaking about the situation, he remarked, “Just be patient,” he said. The actor reminisced on walking through the streets of New York after the initial broadcasts, where it became evident that his character was universally disliked by the public.

Since the airing of season 3’s finale, people’s opinions have shifted significantly. As he noted, it’s heartwarming to hear fans expressing their affection for the character Saxon. Saxon was one of the members of the Ratliff family, portrayed by Parker Posey, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Nivola. This wealthy family, unfortunately, lost all their riches in the series.

The White Lotus season 3 is now streaming on Max.
