One of the highly anticipated movies set to premiere at Cannes was Spike Lee’s latest production titled “Highest 2 Lowest.” This film features the talented Denzel Washington in the cast. However, a surprising turn of events occurred when the movie wasn’t included on the official list, causing quite a stir and sparking debate among cinema enthusiasts.

Titled “Highest 2 Lowest,” this crime drama is set to feature Washington alongside a stellar cast that includes Ilfenesh Hadera, Jeffrey Wright, Ice Spice, ASAP Rocky, Dean Winters, and John Douglas Thompson. The film is a fresh take on the 1963 classic “High and Low,” originally directed by Kurosawa. This remake, in itself, is an adaptation of the novel “King’s Ransom” penned by Ed McBain (Evan Hunter).

The film is set for release by A24 and later streaming on AppleTV+, though it was initially planned to debut at Cannes this year. However, when it didn’t appear on the festival’s lineup, concerns arose. But, Spike Lee himself confirmed that the movie will, in fact, have its premiere in France.
