It seems that Taylor Swift is once more caught up in a legal dispute. A woman from Florida named Kimberly Marasco has filed a lawsuit against the famous pop star, claiming that she copied her work as reported by Newsweek.
According to reports, she allegedly stated that she’s encountering “severe challenges” when trying to deliver Swift the necessary legal documents. In a court filing on Monday, Marasco outlined some complexities in this legal case due to the singer’s residency outside of the state and her intricate security arrangements.
The individual filing a lawsuit, aiming for $30 million in compensation, claimed that Swift and her production company, Taylor Swift Productions, have unlawfully replicated the plaintiff’s work in various tracks and music videos from albums such as Folklore, The Tortured Poets Department, Lover, and Midnights. This assertion was made by Jezebel.
According to reports, Marasco stated in legal papers that she hadn’t bought any of the singer’s albums since her musical preference leans towards “alternative rock.” She disclosed that she became aware of the supposed plagiarism only after attending The Eras Tour concert, as mentioned in the publication.
In my exploration of music, I stumbled upon potential infringements while revisiting some of my earlier works. Upon further investigation, I discovered multiple instances that suggested copying in those tracks, prompting a thorough review of my entire catalog.
In the realm of music industry news, as a lifestyle connoisseur speaking from my personal perspective, I’m sharing an update: Back in February, Morasco initiated a lawsuit involving Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, Aaron Desner, Universal Music Group, and Republic Records. Interestingly, Taylor Swift is the sole individual yet to receive legal documents regarding this case.
In this instance, we can rephrase the sentence as follows: This most recent round of lawsuits represents the second time she has taken legal action against Swift. The plaintiff argues that she was unable to deliver the necessary documents in a timely manner when she filed her lawsuit last year. However, Judge Aileen Canon ultimately decided to release Taylor Swift from the case, as reported by the media outlet.
The plaintiff provided multiple explanations for why she couldn’t complete it on time, allegedly among them being that Taylor Swift was traveling for her Eras Tour performances.
