We’re still in the process of digesting the aftermath from the “Avengers: Doomsday” cast announcement, a 5-hour long event that unveiled the identities of 26 actors set to appear in the upcoming film, marking the first Avengers movie in seven years. However, it was revealed later that each actor only knew about their own participation in the film. Among those announced was Simu Liu, who is making his comeback as Shang-Chi for “Doomsday.” According to IGN, during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Liu admitted he was just as shocked as everyone else by the list of other actors’ names. It appears that the secrecy was necessary due to two major MCU stars who can’t resist spilling secrets.

It was clear that I’d have a part in it somehow. However, I wasn’t aware of the other people they were revealing. They just keep everything hidden from us. Unfortunately, Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo spoiled it for everyone else. Now, as usual, they still haven’t shared any details with us.

In a playful manner, Simu Liu is joking, but there’s a grain of truth in his words. Actors like those portraying Marvel’s Spider-Man and Hulk have been known to speak freely with media, often spoiling big surprises. As a result, the filmmakers, led by Kevin Feige, have had to maintain a high level of secrecy around these productions, keeping even the actors in the dark.

Simu Liu was thrilled to discover that he would be working alongside acting legends such as Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen in an upcoming project, unaware that these esteemed actors were set to appear in the film as Professor X and Magneto from the X-Men universe. Liu expressed his amazement by saying, “These two are among the greatest actors ever to live. That’s mind-blowing!” Frankly, it left us speechless too. Given the vast ensemble of Doomsday, there’s no certainty they’ll share a scene, but the possibility has him buzzing with anticipation. And honestly, we can understand why.
