George Clooney’s ER Castmates Reunite For His Broadway Debut; Find Out Their Reactions: ‘So Very Happy For The…’

On April 3rd, as George Clooney graced the stage for his Broadway debut, it was evident that the cast of ER were a genuine ensemble. His former colleagues Julianna Margulies, Anthony Edwards, and Noah Wyle attended the performance on Broadway’s Great White Way to cheer him on.

George Clooney played in the stage version of his 2005 Oscar-nominated film, Good Night, and Good Luck, which was adapted from the stage. On social media, Wyle expressed admiration towards his former onscreen companion for this accomplishment by sharing a black-and-white cast photo. Accompanying the picture, he wrote, “I’m incredibly proud of my friend, and I’m overjoyed about our reunion.

In earlier conversations, Margulies shared with the Television Academy that she and Clooney continue to refer to each other using their characters’ names from ER, such as ‘George’ and ‘Carol’, in their personal emails up until now.

The long-running, Emmy-awarded drama spanning from 1994 to 2009 (lasting 15 seasons) focused on a team of doctors at County General Hospital’s ER. They dealt with highs and lows in both their personal and professional lives, all while striving to provide quality medical treatment to their patients, as described in the show’s official summary.

Back in the year 2000, when I bid adieu to the series following season 6, I can’t help but look back on the heart-wrenching moment between Carol and Doug that Margulies so brilliantly portrayed. You see, even while flipping through channels aimlessly, this scene has a knack of finding me. The music accompanying it never fails to stir up emotions within me each time I chance upon it.

Initially, Clooney hadn’t been involved in the series, hence when his character reunited with Margulies’ on-screen, viewers were taken aback. She reminisced about her mom’s response to the scene, disclosing that she shouted in delight as they appeared together.

“It was the right ending for them because Carol and Doug were destined to be together,” she added.
