The open-world game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” has been warmly welcomed by the gaming community since its launch. It’s garnered acclaim for its lush environments that seamlessly invite exploration, and it’s considered one of the best-looking games in the Monster Hunter series. What truly matters to fans of Monster Hunter, though, is the variety of monsters they can hunt and gear they can craft from these hunts. Luckily, “Monster Hunter Wilds” delivers in this regard, offering numerous weapon and armor sets to craft, each often boasting unique skills and advantages.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are two categories of cumulative armor enhancements: group skills and set bonuses. Set bonuses occur when you wear several parts of a specific monster’s armor; group skills are common to various armors but can still trigger benefits if enough mixed pieces are worn. Here we present the most effective set bonus abilities in Monster Hunter Wilds.
This article will be looking at the best armor set bonuses, not group skills.
8. Fulgur Anjanath’s Will
Stamina Booster

- Two-Piece Bonus: Grants an additional stamina gauge
- Four-Piece Bonus: Grants an additional long stamina gauge
Players who could benefit from extra stamina may find the bonus from Fulgur Anjanath’s armor set quite beneficial. In particular, this boost could be crucial for specific weapon types, aiding them in sustaining the effect of Maximum Might, which is particularly useful for slower or more stamina-demanding weapons.
Obtaining additional endurance from the two-piece armor set’s bonus is generally sufficient for this task. Therefore, acquiring all four pieces of this armor might not offer much advantage due to the valuable set bonuses that could be lost in other armor configurations.
7. Ebony Odogaron’s Power
Burst Extender

- Two-Piece Bonus: Extends duration of Burst, +3 attack while Burst is active
- Four-Piece Bonus: Greater extended duration, +10 attack while Burst is active
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Burst ability can prove incredibly potent, and the Ebony Odogaron gear can amplify its effectiveness. Essentially, the Burst skill boosts your attack power, both physical and elemental, for each consecutive hit on a monster, with the bonus growing larger with each successive strike.
As a gamer, every time I whack a monster, I trigger a small perk, and if I manage to dish out five hits within a span of four seconds, I activate a massive bonus. Interestingly, when I’m equipped with the Odogaron’s armor set, the activation window extends by an additional second, and my attack power gets a slight boost while it’s active. For players who have maxed out their Burst skills, the Ebony Odgaron’s armor set can translate to a significant bonus.
6. Rey Dau’s Voltage
Latent Power Extender

- Two-Piece Bonus: Extends the activation time of Latent Power
- Four-Piece Bonus: Further extends the activation time of Latent Power
Opting for the Latent Power ability could significantly enhance your bond, as this skill increases affinity while also slowing down stamina drain either following a specific damage threshold or post-combat duration elapse.
When you have the Rey Dau set bonus, your Latent Power ability remains activated for an extended period. This prolonged activation could prove beneficial, especially for players who prioritize Latent Power to boost their chances of landing critical hits.
5. Nu Udra’s Mutiny
Resentment Damage Buff

- Two-Piece Bonus: Deals increased damage while Resentment is active
- Four-Piece Bonus: Deals further increased damage while Resentment is active
In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, the Resentment ability boosts your attacking strength when some of your health is depletable, denoted by the red section of your health meter following an attack. When you wear the Nu Udra armor set, this skill provides additional attack advantages.
If you incorporate this gear collection with at least three skill levels of Resentment, the power of its attack bonus, which grows with each level in the skill, will significantly increase.
4. Jin Dahaad’s Revolt
Status Recovery Attack Boost

- Two-Piece Bonus: Increases attack after recovering from certain status effects
- Four-Piece Bonus: Greatly increases attack after recovering from certain status effects
Jin Dahaad’s Revolt ability gives a substantial boost in attacks, however, this enhancement takes effect only following recovery from specific status conditions. This happens when the game’s player manages to shake off Webbed, Frostblight, Pinned, or after a Power Clash situation has been resolved.
From my perspective as an avid player, while this setup offers a diverse array of effects that can prove beneficial in certain situations, it falls short compared to the self-triggering boosts provided by the Gore Magala set bonus and Antivirus skill. Consequently, this combination isn’t as favored for endgame play due to its comparative lack of ease in self-activation.
3. Arkveld’s Hunger
Life Steal

- Two-Piece Bonus: Restores health with successive attacks
- Four-Piece Bonus: Restores more health with successive attacks
In Monster Hunter Wilds, Arkveld’s Hunger’s persistent healing ability ranks among the most potent healing effects, particularly when players wield fast-attacking weapons such as Dual Blades. This set bonus enables health recovery upon consecutively striking a monster, enabling players to maintain their offensive strategy.
The healing power differs among weapons. Though the healing isn’t substantial for each strike, it becomes quite substantial when players consistently land multiple attacks in succession.
2. Guardian Arkveld’s Vitality
Heal On Wound Break

- Two-Piece Bonus: Restores health when destroying a wound
- Four-Piece Bonus: Restores more health when destroying a wound
The healing boost from the Guardian Arkveld equipment might be more effective, especially for players who prioritize wound-breaking gameplay, compared to the healing bonus of the regular Arkveld set.
In simpler terms, the bonus from Arkveld’s Guardian set regenerates a substantial amount of your health whenever you inflict a wound on an enemy. You can still utilize this benefit even if you only wear two pieces of the set, allowing you to use the remaining armor slots for abilities that increase your damage output.
1. Gore Magala’s Tyranny
Self Frenzy

- Two-Piece Bonus: Infects player with Frenzy when fighting large monsters
- Four-Piece Bonus: Inflicts Frenzy and raises attack power during and on recovery
In the final stages of Monster Hunter Wilds, a common method to increase damage output is by inducing Frenzy with equipment from Gore Magala and hastening the recovery period using the Antivirus ability.
When the complete four-piece Gore Magala set is activated, players experience a substantial attack enhancement during Frenzy mode and an even greater boost post-Frenzy effect recovery. This setup typically surpasses other combinations for consistently increasing damage output, positioning Gore Magala’s set bonus as one of the strongest in the game.
