Previously, Black Butler: Public School Arc unfolded with Ciel Phantomhive initiating an investigation on Derrick Arden’s disappearance at the Queen’s behest. To carry out this mission, he joined Weston College, whereupon Sebastian Michaelis assumed the role of a teacher. In this educational institution, it was found that only the Four Prefects held authority over the Headmaster.
Through earning their confidence, he discovered they had killed Derrick and his companions for violating school customs. They joined forces with the Aurora Society to conceal this crime, and even got Undertaker to pose as the Headmaster. When the truth was revealed, the Prefects were dismissed, marking the end of Ciel and Sebastian’s assignment.
In Black Butler Season 5 Episode 1, Ciel and Sebastian are summoned by a letter from the Queen for an inquiry concerning mysterious deaths occurring in Germany. Upon their arrival with the Phantomhive staff, they’ll uncover that the deceased had ventured into the Werewolf Forest, where they were afflicted by the “Witch’s Curse.
To find solutions, the pair plans to delve further and stumble upon a hidden settlement populated exclusively by females. In this place, they cross paths with Sieglinde Sullivan, the youthful ruler of the village, and her servant, Wolfram Gelzer. This encounter will present crucial characters and lay the groundwork for the Emerald Witch Storyline.
