In a thrilling return, the much-adored bounty hunters, Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane, make their comeback in “Star Wars: Chronicles of the Underworld“. This fresh animated series from Lucasfilm and Disney+ is set to debut on May 4, 2025, a day fondly known as “Star Wars Day”. It marks the third installment of the “Chronicles” series, succeeding “Chronicles of the Jedi” and “Chronicles of the Empire“.
Six captivating episodes are in store for viewers, each unfolding fresh tales about these renowned figures. Ventress, once a ruthless assassin of the dark side, receives a surprising opportunity for redemption and finds herself on the run with an unexpected companion. Simultaneously, rogue Cad Bane encounters a past acquaintance who has since taken up the mantle as a law enforcer.
As a movie enthusiast, I’ve got to say that the latest trailer has me hooked! Ventress appears with her torn cloak and that distinctive yellow lightsaber, taking on an enigmatic adversary wielding a red blade. A young Padawan is seen battling to stay alive after Order 66 was issued. The scene then shifts to Bane, his wide-brimmed hat a familiar sight as he engages in a nail-biting blaster fight. Reminds me of the live-action duel we witnessed in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
The latest show’s promotional material unveils several fresh characters, including a recurring figure – Latts Razzi, a bounty hunter from the Theelin species who made his debut in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. This poster also sports a symbol indicating credits, marking the completion of a series of designs that previously showcased symbols representing Jedi and Imperial factions in the “Tales” series.
The lineup features Nika Futterman portraying Asajj Ventress and Corey Burton as Cad Bane, while additional cast members include Art Butler, Lane Foster, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez.
Dave Filoni serves as the creator, supervising director, and an executive producer on the series. He shares this role in executive production with Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rimes works as a co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is the senior producer, and Matt Michnovetz handles the writing duties.
As an eager admirer, I’m thrilled to share that you can now stream “Tales of the Jedi” and “Tales of the Empire” on Disney+. Fasten your seatbelts, because on May 4, 2025, get ready for another exhilarating journey with “Tales of the Underworld“!
