On a most curious Tuesday, the esteemed Amber Bella, erstwhile Chief Marketing Officer of the blockchain-based action RPG, Blade of God X (BoGX), didst break her silence. In a series of tweets that could only be described as a veritable tempest in a teapot, she unveiled the shocking details of her unfortunate fallout with the game’s founder, the illustrious Tnise Liu Yang, and the rather lackluster Web2 development team.
With a flourish of indignation, Bella accused the team of mismanagement, unethical practices, and a most egregious abandonment of the Web3 side of the project, all after they had raised a princely sum from Web3 investors. One might wonder if they mistook their responsibilities for a game of charades!
Amber Bella’s BoGX Exposé
In her impassioned tweet, Bella lamented that she had been unceremoniously blocked from all channels of communication by Yang, as if she were a character in a most unfortunate novel. This prompted her to take to the public square, or rather, the digital equivalent, to share her tale of woe. According to her, the troubles with Blade of God X began during the ill-fated launch of its Ethereal NFT collection in October 2024, which was intended to bestow upon its holders exclusive gameplay benefits—an idea as grand as it was poorly executed.
Despite securing a commendable backing from the Web3 community, Bella claimed that the Web2 development team, in a fit of nostalgia, chose to focus on outdated features just prior to the mint, resulting in a two-hour outage of the project’s website. Alas, this was merely the prelude to a symphony of disputes regarding the project’s direction and the treatment of the Web3 community, which one might liken to a Shakespearean tragedy.
Bella recounted how her Web3 team had made numerous proposals to enhance player experience and in-game benefits, only to have them systematically rejected by the Web2 team. To add insult to injury, she alleged that members of the Web2 team were using their own accounts to compete on the game’s leaderboards, claiming cash prizes that rightfully belonged to the honest players. One can only imagine the audacity!
Initially, the Web2 team denied these accusations, but upon Bella presenting her evidence, these dubious accounts were reportedly removed, as if by magic. The conflict escalated when Yang informed her that the priority would shift entirely to the Web2 version of the game, leaving the Web3 side to languish in obscurity. Bella lamented that, despite promises of support for her team, payments were delayed and ultimately ceased, much like a gentleman’s attentions that fade after the first dance.
Her attempts to communicate with the founder regarding the liquidation of Web3 assets and the refunding of NFT holders were met with a most disheartening silence, culminating in her being blocked from all communication channels. Truly, one could not script a more dramatic turn of events!
According to Bella, the denouement of this unfortunate saga was the abandonment of the Web3 side by the Web2 team, leaving her team in dire financial straits. The disgruntled marketing leader further asserted that she had no control over BoGX’s funds, which were managed entirely by Yang and his team, as if they were the lords of a manor, oblivious to the plight of their tenants.
Bella Pledges 24.2 ETH for BoGX Community Settlement
In a final act of benevolence, she pledged to use her remaining 24.2 ETH to settle some debts owed to the community, declaring that the BoGX community would always hold a place of priority in her future endeavors. A noble sentiment, indeed!
In a display of integrity, Bella later fulfilled her pledge by transferring the aforementioned amount for the settlement, proving that even in the most tumultuous of times, a lady’s word may still hold value.
