In recent times, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has emerged as one of the most beloved anime series. Boasting breathtaking artwork, heartfelt storytelling, and pulse-pounding action scenes, it has left viewers spellbound globally. Here’s a comprehensive rundown on how many seasons and films are available for this captivating series.

Seasons of Demon Slayer

The anime currently has four seasons:

2019’s First Season – Presents Tanjiro Kamado, a teenage lad, who later becomes a member of the Demon Slayer Unit following a horrific demon attack on his family that turned his sister Nezuko into a demon and left him as her sole surviving relative. This season encompasses 26 episodes in total.

2021-2022 Season – Divided into two storylines: The Mugen Train Storyline (Episodes 1-7) mirrors the events depicted in the Mugen Train film, while the Entertainment District Storyline (Episodes 8-18) unfolds as Tanjiro and his companions confront formidable demons within a district known for its entertainment.

2023 Season 3 – Swordsmith Village Storyline (Episodes 1 to 11) – Tanjiro journeys to the village of blacksmiths and teams up with the Mist and Affectionate Pillar in combat.

2024 Season (Episode 1 – 6) – Hashira Training Saga: The Demon Slayer Organization gears up for the ultimate fight by enduring rigorous training sessions.

In this show, we have four distinct seasons that add up to a total of 63 episodes. Unlike a fifth season for Demon Slayer, the concluding chapter of the series is being turned into a movie trilogy instead.

Demon Slayer movies

2020’s Mugen Train film picks up where Season 1 left off, focusing on the Flame Pillar, Kyojuro Rengoku, in his battles against the demon, Enmu. This movie corresponds to the storyline of the initial arc of Season 2.

In 2023, we’ll be bringing together the final two episodes of our Entertainment District Arc from Season 2, along with the opening chapter of our new journey, the Swordsmith Village Arc, in Season 3.

2025-2026 Release: The Infinity Castle Trilogy will be based on the manga’s Infinity Castle and Sunset Chronometer storylines.

For 2025-2026, the Infinity Castle Trilogy will follow the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs from the original manga.

With these four seasons and three movies, the Demon Slayer anime will come to its conclusion.
