As a cinephile bursting with excitement, I can’t help but share this buzzing news! There’s a tweet trending on X with close to a million views, claiming “Paul” as Marvel’s fresh, revamped Venom. Can’t wait to see it unfold on the silver screen! #Marvel #Venom
The brand new version of Venom, introduced in December, has seen its third issue hit the stands only last week. It seems there’s a major enigma surrounding the individual harboring the symbiote – initially believed to be Luke Cage, speculations now point towards Paul, a character detested by many Spider-Man enthusiasts.
All-New Venom #6 solicit
Marvel Comics unveiled the cover and details for All-New Venom #6, featuring a thrilling scene where Venom faces off against Mary Jane, now known as Jackpot, who appears to have acquired extraordinary abilities. The issue’s synopsis hints at the identity disclosure, suggesting that Mary Jane might not be pleased with what she learns about the true nature of the new Venom.
“THE ORIGIN OF THE ALL-NEW VENOM!
Now, we’ve discovered who has become the All-New Venom… But the real question is, how did that come to be? After the Venom War, what transpired? What factors led the symbiote to choose this specific host and why can’t they part ways now? Jackpot encounters Venom, and she might not appreciate the truth that unfolds!
The new Venom is f-cking Paul
X user Worm on X thinks it’s Paul and is none too happy.
The account stated, ‘It’s definitely him – the new Venom is Paul.’ I may end up causing harm to someone.
The account followed up with more tweets revealing their huge disappointment.
The account exclaimed, ‘I’ve rarely felt this enraged before,’ implying that he would take drastic action if anyone were to purchase the comic, even dedicated variant collectors, hinting at a potential new issue.
User Worm went on to say, “I’d like to clarify that I’m not really furious; I’m just exaggerating for a laugh. However, I am worried. It seems Marvel editorial is deliberately trapping Venom comics in a modern ASM-like predicament. It’s your call, but I’d strongly suggest against purchasing this comic.
The user stated, “Editorial needs to understand that the continuous pattern of inciting rage among fans by dangling the prospect of an old team-up returning, similar to what’s been happening with Spider-Man for several years, won’t work for symbiote comics. I hope this fails.
In response to the earlier tweet, a group of followers who share similar sentiments about Venom not being portrayed by Paul can be found. They express their displeasure towards the character, as X user Worm puts it, encouraging others to make their opinions known financially. You can see these responses gathered below for your perusal.

Who is Paul?
In the sixth volume of “The Amazing Spider-Man,” penned by author Zeb Wells, we meet a character named Paul. He unexpectedly enters the story as Mary Jane Watson’s new associate, following a six-month time jump that had left Peter Parker feeling alienated from his friends and loved ones.
Initially, Paul seemed enshrouded in obscurity and intrigue, leaving fans puzzled due to his scant background and sudden prominence. However, as the story unfolded, it became clear that he was the offspring of Benjamin Rabin, a nefarious character linked to Mayan mysticism, and had been imprisoned in a nightmarish dimension resembling hell alongside MJ. In this alternate reality, they nurtured two children, who were eventually unmasked as illusions crafted by Rabin.
Fans saw Paul as symbolizing editorial meddling in the Spider-Man storyline, as he was another instance of Peter Parker and MJ being separated against the wishes of readers. This has been a recurring theme since the “One More Day” storyline removed their marriage from the narrative. Instead of finding him as a well-developed character, fans considered Paul to be a superficial plot device, which led to widespread discontent and numerous memes ridiculing his presence in the comics.
Fans react
It seems quite likely that they will bring back Uncle Ben as a new version of Venom in the storyline.
