Age of Wonders 4: All Tomes of Magic

In Age of Wonders 4, the Tomes of Magic serve as your guide to technological advancement. Once you’ve researched three spells from your initial Tome, you gain access to another, setting off a chain reaction where you gradually ascend through magic tiers. This process unlocks increasingly potent spells for both world map and combat use, as well as new units, buildings, siege projects, and race transformations.

Each book of magic is linked to one of the six categories in the game, symbolizing the values of your empire. These are: Chaos, Order, Materium, Astral, Nature, and Shadow. To access the second level of books of magic from a specific category, you need to advance through two Level 1 books of the same kind first. This implies that concentrating on one category will lead to more powerful magic quicker, but some strategies or role-playing objectives might work better when you diversify your research instead of specializing in one area. The decision is yours to make.
