Marvel Studios certainly piqued the interest of their dedicated fans by revealing the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. Just moments ago, it was almost confirmed that the majority of the cast is now assembling for this epic production. Although some prominent actors and notable pairings have been announced recently, several names were still left unmentioned.
Marvel Studios unveiled several fresh faces and some familiar ones in their latest cast reveal, but surprisingly, the mainstays who continue to be associated with the franchise were absent from this event. Interestingly, despite a lengthy presentation, it was none other than Robert Downey Jr. who didn’t make an appearance at the end.
Despite the prior knowledge that Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen wouldn’t be part of Avengers: Doomsday, given Jonathan Majors’ departure and the conclusion of the Kang storyline, the cast reveal nevertheless came as a surprise to many viewers.
In the 616 Universe, it was deeply felt by many that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, and Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord were conspicuously absent from the scene.
Discussing Tom Holland, it’s quite likely that he will play a significant part in Avengers: Secret Wars, given that Spider-Man 4 is rumored to serve as a bridge connecting the events of Doomsday to the subsequent Avengers film.
In terms of the characters across various universes, while Channing Tatum’s Gambit was confirmed alongside Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s important to note that the main actors, Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), were not part of the cast in Avengers: Doomsday.
It’s plausible that they might be held back for a major revelation since, given their origin, several characters are expected to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The recently revealed actors for this project encompass every member of The Fantastic Four, alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn. Additionally, in Avengers: Doomsday, we’ll see the original X-Men team consisting of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming.
By rephrasing the sentence, I aimed to make it easier for readers to understand the information presented while maintaining the structure and meaning of the original statement.
Presently, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, and others are part of our ongoing storyline.
Avengers: Doomsday will be out on May 7, 2026.
