The hit Netflix series Suits gained fame due to its memorable characters, Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht) and Michael Ross (portrayed by Patrick J. Adams). For the spin-off, Suits LA set in the same universe, new actors have stepped into the roles previously held by Harvey and Mike.

In episode 5 of Suits LA, Ted Black (Stephen Amell) and Kevin (Troy Winbush) have solidified their partnership, becoming the show’s latest power duo, reminiscent of Harvey and Mike’s relationship. Ted’s character was referred to as a “private investigator who uncovers handy hints,” implying that he now takes on the role previously held by Harvey.

Currently, the character of Kevin in Winbush’s series appears quite similar to Mike. In the most recent episode, it has been disclosed that Kevin and Ted have been long-standing friends, with no one else that Ted trusts as much as Kevin.

Winbush’s role was crucial in the incident that ultimately destroyed Ted Black’s career as a prosecutor. This means that Kevin is well aware of how far Ted will push himself to secure a victory in court, and recognizes him as the top prosecutor in their firm. In turn, Ted trusts Kevin implicitly, and Kevin can usually predict Ted’s next course of action.

In the same manner as when Kevin immediately deduced that Ted was responsible for Lester’s absence in episode 5, Kevin might take on the role of the new Mike in the spin-off series. However, it’s essential to note that he is not identical to the original character.

In simpler terms, Kevin acts as a detective uncovering evidence for Ted, but also has a deep understanding of him. Although Stuart is Ted’s business partner, their relationship doesn’t have much depth in comparison. This is why people often compare Ted and Kevin to Harvey and Mike in the newer version of the story.
