Severance Season 2 Ending Explained: What Happens to Adam Scott’s Innie Mark And Dichen Lachman’s Gemma?

In the recent finale of Severance season 2, Adam Scott’s character, Mark (who is both Innie and Outie), had a discussion with himself.

During the final episode of Season 2, there were several important developments to keep an eye on. If you happened to have missed it, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with a brief summary. In episode 10 of Severance, Innie Mark and Outie Mark engaged in a series of exchanges to find a compromise that would help save the character Gemma, played by Dichen Lachman.

Following their rescue of Gemma, Inner Mark opted not to join her outside the building and instead remained indoors before proceeding to Helly. This decision by Inner Mark was based on his understanding that leaving Lumon would prevent Outer Mark from ever reuniting with Gemma, a situation that ultimately led to their reunion.

This would consequently result in Mark’s absence. Simultaneously, Helly found herself in a comparable predicament. Should her inner self depart, she would transform into Helena Eagen, with little compelling cause to revisit the Severed Floor.

Essentially, it’s important to understand that neither of them has a survival plan, nor do they know their next destination.

In the most recent episode, a scene unfolded where Mark was chasing an elevator and encountered Mr. Drummond, portrayed by Darri Olafsson. A scuffle ensued between them in the corridor, but Mark managed to gain control. Later on, Mark is depicted pointing Lorne’s bolt gun at Mr. Drummond, keeping him at gunpoint.

Regrettably, finding myself in an elevator with Mark S transforming into Mark Scout, the sudden bewilderment led me to discharge a weapon, hitting Drummond’s neck and unfortunately taking his life.

After this event, Mark goes in search of the Cold Harbor room, eventually managing to enter it by using a tie saturated with Drummond’s blood as a key.
