Together Trailer: Alison Brie and Dave Franco Lead Neon’s Chilling New Horror Rom-Com; WATCH

Neon recently released an eerily enchanting teaser for the movie titled Together. Starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco as romantic partners in a blend of horror and romance comedy, this film is written and directed by Michael Shanks. After a competitive bidding battle at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Neon secured the rights to this movie that made its debut during the Midnight section of the festival.

Apart from serving as the production house, the studio additionally functioned as the main distributor for this year’s Best Picture Academy Award winner, “Anora.” The film, titled “Together,” revolves around a couple portrayed by Brie and Franco who relocate to a secluded countryside abode, leading to an unexpected supernatural event.

As suggested by the official summary, an unexpected occurrence of supernatural events significantly changes their bond, life, and physical appearance. The trailer opens with a loving couple, brimming with joy, preparing for a major relocation that promises to take them far from the known.

In their new, roomy countryside home, Franco’s character observes a cluster of still dogs amidst a distant woodland. This eerie scene signals the start of an unusual sequence of events, as the trailer quickly depicts these strange happenings through a fast-paced montage.

This unsettling video showcases spectral beings perched on a mattress, enigmatic doorways materializing within and around the house, and otherworldly energies taking hold of the characters – just to name a few chilling events. Yet, the climax of the preview focuses on the main characters declaring their affection for each other, underlining that love is the core theme in this horror movie.

In a recent disclosure, real-life couple Brie and Franco (married for eight years) shared that they eagerly joined the production as soon as it was proposed to them following Shanks’ approach. Their decision was influenced by the director’s fascination with their 2020 psychological thriller film titled The Rental.

At the Sundance Film Festival press conference, I couldn’t help but express my heartfelt sentiments: “This project struck a chord; not just because of the outstanding script, but because our characters have journeyed together for more than a decade on-screen. Our genuine bond off-screen seemed to resonate with the narrative in a profound manner.

The actor humorously remarked that working on the movie might have resulted in a divorce for them, or deepened their interdependence instead. Thankfully, it turned out to be the latter, he joked.

Together will be released in theaters on August 1, 2025.
