The hit series ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ on Disney+ is coming back for a third season. I heard from Disney Branded Television and 20th Television that they made the call to keep the story going, and it’s all happening before the second season even drops this December.
The third season will dive into ‘The Titan’s Curse,’ which is the third book in Rick Riordan’s popular series published by Disney Hyperion. We’re talking new faces like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo hitting the screen for the first time.
Rick Riordan himself said, ‘We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!’
Season two is already wrapped up, filmed in Vancouver, and stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, and Daniel Diemer. It’s set to land on Disney+ this December.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t caught up, the first season is still there to stream. That one blew up big time back in December 2023, landing in the top five original series across streaming platforms, according to Nielsen. On TikTok, the #percyjackson hashtag racked up over 1 billion views in the U.S. in just the first month!
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, shared some thoughts too. ‘From the moment ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages,’ she said. ‘With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.’
The show’s been cleaning up with awards too. It’s up for 16 nominations at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards, happening tomorrow in Los Angeles. Last year, it grabbed the Kids Choice Award for Favorite Kids TV Show, and Walker Scobell won Favorite Male TV Star. Plus, Leah Sava Jeffries has been killing it, winning NAACP Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Youth in 2024 and 2025.
Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg created the series, with Steinberg teaming up with Dan Shotz as executive producers. Other big names behind the scenes include Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler, and Sarah Watson. Social media’s buzzing too—the series’ official accounts have pulled in 4.6 million followers combined.
We’re really excited about season three of Percy Jackson. The green light from Disney means they’re fully committed, and we can’t wait to find out what will happen next to Percy and his friends!
