In the third season, it became clear that Ben Scott, the coach of the Yellowjackets soccer team, faced charges and went to trial due to accusations that he had set fire to the team’s cabin, an incident that occurred in the finale of the previous season.

Although it wasn’t clearly established whether Ben Scott committed the act or not, the actor portraying the character Steven Krueger has provided some insights into the fictional incident depicted in the show.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Krueger was questioned if his character, Coach, had burned down a cabin and whether he was responsible or not. In addressing this query, the actor shared he has two viewpoints: one being his personal perspective, and the other from the standpoint of Yellowjackets viewers. As a Yellowjackets audience member, Steven Krueger opined that it’s unfair to hold a person accountable for the destruction of a cabin.

He mentioned that we were inside a seemingly ancient, parched, timber structure, origin unknown. Remarkably, there was a roaring fire in an open hearth and an array of fifty flickering candles, all burning without any known observer present to discern the source of the flame.

It appears quite explosive to me! I believe it might have been an unintentional incident. However, doesn’t it reflect their general temperament? He concluded with that thought.

Steven Krueger explained that each character in “Yellowjackets” is under immense pressure, which leads them to try finding someone or something to place the blame on, as it seems logical to them.

Regarding Ben, the actor, he shared that his struggle lies in the fact that he’s been concealed by a facade throughout his life, without truly living as the authentic individual he is.
