As a dedicated Monster Hunter Wilds enthusiast, I’m always amazed by the extensive array of equipment and weapons at my disposal for combat against these formidable beasts. Though I can outfit myself with nearly any gear to vanquish the monsters in the primary narrative, once I advance to the High Ranks, the challenges become more intense.
Once you finish the primary adventure, you’ll encounter more formidable creatures requiring superior equipment to defeat. You have two options to improve your gear: craft new, advanced armor or enhance your existing one by upgrading it. However, for upgrades, you’ll need a substantial number of Armor Spheres.
How To Get Armor Spheres
Armor Spheres serve the purpose of enhancing your protective gear, but locating them can be quite tricky. Enhanced armor provides resistance against lethal blows from monsters, and if it’s strong enough, you can effortlessly shrug off minor assaults without so much as a blink, allowing you to press on with your attack.
Achieving Armor Spheres can be done by finishing various quests, either story-driven or optional ones. If you’re set on using only a couple of armor sets, the Armor Spheres you earn from completing these quests should suffice for your requirements.

Instead, the most convenient method to acquire Armor Spheres involves smelting. To proceed, make your way to the camp situated in the Oilwell Basin Area. Roqul is stationed just north of the tent there. He’s skilled at smelting various materials. Simply approach him and choose the “Smelt Armor Spheres” option. Once you do, select the type of Armor Sphere you desire for the smelting process to begin.

In the Smithy’s upgrade menu, you can find out how many points are needed to boost your armor’s strength. Keep in mind that the more points an Armor Sphere yields, the greater number of items you’ll need to melt it down at the Smelting Foundry.

After making your choice, you’ll move onto the following screen, where you’ll need to choose the monster components you’ve gathered during your hunts for melting the Armor Spheres. Higher-rarity items yield more points, but it’s advisable to opt for the monster materials that are plentiful in your inventory.
Once you’ve chosen the necessary materials, feel free to click on the ‘Smelt’ button to manufacture Armor Spheres. These spheres will automatically be stored in your inventory, and you can enhance your armor using them by having a chat with Gemma.
