Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 3 Grabs 54 Million Views in 19 Days, Becomes Prime Video’s Most-Watched Returning Show

In just its initial 19 days of release, Season 3 of Reacher on Amazon Prime Video has garnered an impressive viewership of 54.6 million viewers worldwide, breaking records as the most-viewed returning series in the platform’s history, as reported by Amazon itself.

This newly launched season experienced a modest 0.5% rise compared to Season 2, and it has been the busiest season on Amazon Prime Video since Fallout’s debut within its initial 19 days, as reported by Amazon.

A significant portion of viewers for Reacher originates from overseas, particularly in countries like the UK, Germany, and Brazil. However, Amazon has yet to specify the method they use to count a view, as streaming services typically calculate views based on total viewing hours or rough estimates derived from runtimes.

As a devoted fan, I’m not at all taken aback by the widespread acclaim that Reacher has garnered. When Season 2 made its grand entrance in late 2023, it quickly became clear that audiences couldn’t get enough. In just three days, the first three episodes managed to pull in 50% more viewers than the entire initial season had throughout its run. Simply put, Reacher has proven itself as a force to be reckoned with!

In the upcoming weeks, Nielsen will share details about the viewership of Reacher Season 3 within the United States. It’s worth noting that the figures reported by Amazon also account for international viewers, according to Variety.

In its third season, the storyline follows Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, who is back for more action. This time, it’s based on “Persuader,” the seventh novel in Lee Child’s series about this ex-military investigator. In this new adventure, Reacher embarks on a mission to infiltrate and save an informant from a formidable adversary under deep cover.

The show was created by Nick Santora, who additionally oversees it as executive producer. The production companies responsible are Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance TV, and Paramount TV Studios.

Among the executive producers are Santora, Child, Ritchson, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell. In simpler terms, these individuals have significant roles in overseeing the production of the project.
