As good as B.Helena?

As a gamer, I can tell you that Dark Saintess Liberta feels like an upgraded, real-life version of B-Rank Helena. Here’s how they stack up against each other:

1. Appearance: While B-Rank Helena is more subdued and modest in her appearance, Dark Saintess Liberta exudes a darker, edgier vibe with her striking attire.

2. Abilities: Both characters share similar abilities, but Dark Saintess Liberta seems to have honed them to a sharper edge. She’s more versatile and has a wider array of moves at her disposal.

When fully activated, DS.Liberta and B.Helena significantly boost attack power by 115% for both Attack and Magic Attack, as well as increasing the critical hit rate by 50%. This enhancement lasts for four turns (equivalent to two player turns). There’s a three-turn cooldown before they can be activated again, and each use requires only one SP.

The main distinction between these two abilities lies not just in their magical or physical nature, but also in their functions: DS.Liberta restores SP, while B.Helena focuses on healing. However, it’s important to note that both characters have alternate costumes with different roles; Liberta can heal as an Onsen Manager, and Helena can restore SP as a Top Idol.

This is primarily due to Liberta possessing two costumes specifically designed for offensive buffs, as opposed to Helena who only has one such costume.

When Liberta’s two costumes are used together, Liberta gives your team:

115% ATK,
50% crit,
130% damage amplification (for enemies with 10 or more chain stacks), AND
Some healing and SP charge

In the game, just three characters – Teresse (who has both Medical Club and Beach Angel buffs), Refi (with Gluttonous and PWB buffs), and more recently, Liberta – have two offensive boosts. This means that Liberta has joined the ranks of top offensive buffer characters in the game.

Better than Lathel?

H.Lathel provides an extraordinary boost in attack power: a staggering 160% increase when utilized, followed by a 70% boost over the subsequent two turns. As a result, H.Lathel has consistently been recognized as the premier choice for physical buffering in recent times.

While the individual boost from H.Lathel’s ATK upgrade surpasses that of DS.Liberta, overall, Liberta proves stronger due to its broader array of capabilities in extended battles. Notably, Lathel lacks additional buffer costumes, whereas Liberta offers a 130% damage amplification for high hit count teams with OM.Liberta.

Absolutely, while Liberta boasts a higher overall buff strength, H.Lathel can effectively complement Liberta because their attack boosts combine and pile up (stack) together.

Team building for fiend hunts

In high level fiend hunts, you need as many supporters as possible to fill out up to 3 teams.

DS.Liberta is a physical buffer, so you obviously want to use her in a physical team.

OM.Liberta becomes active when there are at least ten stacks in the chain, making her most effective in teams with a high number of hits. Hence, it’s advisable to utilize her in such teams.

To reap the most benefit from Liberta during late-game fiend hunts, it’s best to construct a team that emphasizes physical attacks and high hit counts. A crucial member for such a team would be Refi, as she significantly boosts your ability to chain attacks more rapidly.

Therefore, your physical team build will be:

Liberta (ATK buff + damage amplifier)
Refi (property damage + chain buff + crit damage buff)
Flex slot (any character needed to trigger conditional skills, or another buffer if nothing else is needed)
Celia / Hikage / Zenith etc (chain stacker, needed for Liberta’s buff to activate)
Main attacker

Earlier, you had the option to choose between Diana and Refi as your property buffer for both physical and magical teams. However, with the introduction of DS.Liberta, Liberta is usually paired with Refi in a physical team. This means that Diana (and likely Teresse) will be utilized primarily on the magic team or secondary physical team.

Other game modes

Liberta also has a lot of impact in other game modes.

Last night, Detective Sergeant Liberta provided a strong initial advantage, and he’s one of just three characters who boost your critical hit rate by 50%. However, it’s important to note that buffs in Last Night are reduced by half, so DS Liberta actually offers a 25% increase in your chances of landing critical hits.

In the Tower of Salvation, the presence of DS.Liberta has significantly boosted the strength of physical teams. Her ability to increase critical hit rate substantially enhances their overall damage output, while her skill point (SP) charge comes in handy due to the scarcity of SP in this game mode.

Liberta for PVP

DS.Liberta is amazing for PVP, as she functions as the physical equivalent of B.Helena.

With just 1 Star Point, she’s a versatile addition to any physical team. Even though they already have H.Lathel, Liberta stands out for PVP scenarios, as she enables you to construct attackers with maximum crit damage and a 50% crit rate (which transforms into an assured crit with Liberta’s boost). Critical builds are substantially more potent compared to merely having an attack enhancement, as hitting a crit with a 300% multiplier means quadruple the usual damage.

It’s important to mention that Liberta is significantly more durable or sturdy than Lathel, boasting a base HP of 3885 compared to Lathel’s 2877 HP. Furthermore, her awakening, potential upgrades, unique stats, and exclusive equipment enhance her durability even further.

Liberta’s entry into the meta promises to breathe fresh life into a scene that has become a bit predictable, by boosting the appeal of physical teams. Several costumes could significantly gain from Liberta’s presence. To illustrate, here are a few examples:

1. The Knight costume could see a resurgence in popularity due to its strong and robust nature mirroring Liberta’s powerful abilities.
2. The Mage costume might also benefit as it shares similarities with Liberta’s spellcasting abilities.
3. Lastly, the Healer costume could potentially gain traction as it complements Liberta’s supportive role in team dynamics.

A fully geared PMB.Eleaneer (with crit build) buffed by Liberta is now capable of knocking out Granhildr without any help from Zenith. Currently PP.Schera is a more popular opener than PMB.Eleaneer in attack teams, but Liberta’s arrival is likely to drive some increase in Eleaneer’s popularity.
B-Rank Manager Gray now also emerges as a viable 2 SP Granhildr killer. With 50% DEF shred, a fully geared Gray buffed by Liberta can brute force through Granhildr’s energy guard.
Sword Queen Sylvia is now back on the menu as a competitive attack team opener. Sylvia really relies on crit to deal lethal damage. With Liberta, a fully geared Sylvia becomes an extremely reliable 1 SP killer, though she still struggles against Lecliss as one of her biggest challenges.
White Cat Rou’s burn damage is now a lot more reliable if she has both the ATK buff and the crit rate boost.
Empress Rubia is a menace on defense if you can manage to buff her with Liberta.
Android Queen Lecliss can now get powerful guaranteed crits on her counterattack when geared with an Evil Dragon’s Blade, Promise of Harmony and Rebellion. Even units geared to 90% DEF may find it hard to survive against her.
Zenith’s biggest weakness is her low offensive powers, but Liberta now gives Zenith good odds at lethal damage against low DEF enemies.

Here’s a simpler way to convey the same information:

In PvP with Liberta, be aware that using OM.Liberta isn’t ideal because it’s hard to build up 10 chain stacks quickly before your ally attacks, and its healing power is not particularly strong (only 25% of the target’s maximum HP). Instead, consider activating only DS.Liberta. This way, you can use a stronger normal attack on cooldown turns, rather than spending SP on OM.Liberta’s relatively weak buff.

How much should I invest in Liberta?

DS.Liberta is definitely a costume that you want to get to +5 and unlock full potential for.

As a gamer, I’ve found that when DS.Liberta’s costume levels are low, she’s quite underwhelming. Here’s the thing: even at +4, her attack boost is merely 65%, and that’s without any upgrades. To put it into perspective, a 3-star Arines outperforms her in this aspect.

Additionally, DS.Liberta doesn’t excel in Player versus Player (PVP) combat until you enhance her skill point (SP) reduction potential. A significant distinction exists between an ability that requires 2 SP and one that only needs 1 SP.

Investing tickets in her is highly beneficial, as she becomes an essential member for many end-game physical team compositions.

Exclusive Gear

Liberta’s unique equipment boosts her health points, enhancing her ability to withstand damage, but it doesn’t amplify her offensive capabilities. Since survivability is seldom a concern, even in advanced gameplay (particularly for characters like Liberta who are already quite tough), obtaining her exclusive gear isn’t generally advised as it may not offer significant added value. The primary advantage of acquiring her unique equipment lies in increasing her resilience in player-versus-player combat.
