STAR TREK Fan Film Shows Two Infamous Enterprise Starships Together in Space

Over time, characters from different Star Trek series have interacted in diverse ways. The latest instance involved Lower Decks characters showing up in Strange New Worlds. Fans have long desired a meeting between Captain Kirk’s Enterprise-A and Captain Picard’s Enterprise-D from The Next Generation, but it never happened. However, YouTuber NJM Photo brought this dream to life without using CGI. Instead, they used model kits from Revell and AMT, along with a motion control camera, to create an incredible space rendezvous between the two legendary starships. In the video, Captain Janeway’s starship Voyager acts as a guide for Picard’s Federation vessel as they journey through space. Following this, the Starship Enterprise-D discovers a rip in time and travels back, much like its encounter with the Enterprise-C in the famous TNG episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” In that storyline, they find themselves facing off against Captain Kirk’s Enterprise, engaged in combat with a Klingon Bird of Prey. If only the Defiant from Deep Space Nine could have joined them, what an amazing sight it would have been! Nevertheless, this setup is almost as good.

It’s simply astounding how this model appears so professional, constructed using store-bought kits. This detail truly emphasizes that a carefully lit, motion-controlled model usually surpasses a CGI version of the same subject. The very same YouTuber recreated the legendary fight between the Reliant and the Enterprise from “The Wrath of Khan,” an achievement in itself. However, presenting these two iconic spaceships together in a single video was something die-hard Trekkers have longed for. Although it might not happen in any film, this creation is undoubtedly the closest we’ll get to that dream.
