POKER FACE Season 2 Teaser Features Melanie Lynskey, Cynthia Erivo, and More Nerdy Guest Stars

2023 saw the debut of “Poker Face” on Peacock, delivering ten thrilling episodes filled with chaotic entertainment. This comedy-drama series follows Natasha Lyonne’s character, Charlie Cale, a casino waitress who finds herself on the run from a mob boss and unexpectedly solving crimes due to her remarkable talent for detecting lies. The show tackles mysteries in a way reminiscent of “Columbo” and is a real blast to watch. Exciting news: season two of “Poker Face” is on its way, and we’ve even got a sneak peek featuring some beloved nerd actors!

Even though Charlie is in hiding to dodge Beatrix Hasp, she continues with her detective escapades as shown in the teaser trailer for season two of Poker Face, featuring Melanie Lynskey from Yellowjackets, Giancarlo Esposito from The Boys, Kumail Nanjiani known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Cynthia Erivo from Wicked, alongside other notable stars.

In Season 2, we’ve escalated Charlie Cale’s adventures as she flees once more, unfolding a series of intricate murder mysteries. Ranging from minor baseball leagues to large retail stores, funeral homes, alligator farms, and even school talent shows, Charlie embarks on her crime-solving odyssey with dry humor, compassion for humanity, and her unique knack for detecting lies.

To breathe life into Season 2, we drew visual influences from American cinema of the ’70s, cherishing directors like Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich. However, the core essence of this series is rooted in television – the kind of TV that shaped our childhood, filled with weekly mysteries akin to shows such as Columbo, The Rockford Files, and Quantum Leap. Each episode is a standalone film, set in its own distinctive universe with a specific mood and ambiance, populated by an array of quirky characters portrayed by an extraordinary ensemble of guest stars. It’s hard to believe we were fortunate enough to collaborate with talented individuals such as Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, and Awkwafina (and countless others, the list is quite impressive), who enthusiastically embraced their roles and brought their A-game.

Twelve killer new episodes are coming your way.  Buckle up and see you on the road!
