‘Grateful to Say Goodbye the Right Way’: Beth Behrs on The Neighborhood Finale After Not Having One For 2 Broke Girls

Beth Behrs is thanking CBS for renewing The Neighborhood for an eighth and final season, giving her and the team a chance to say goodbye in a manner she missed with 2 Broke Girls.

After announcing its renewal, Behrs posted on Instagram about the series’ journey and why it mattered to have a final chapter.

For the majority of my twenties, I spent time on ‘2 Broke Girls’, nearly all of my thirties were on ‘The Neighborhood’, and as we conclude our tale, I’m about to embark on my forties,” she penned.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can’t help but express the profound significance of wrapping up my journey with my cherished character, Gemma. Sharing the screen with exceptional talents like Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, and Cedric the Entertainer has been an unforgettable experience, and saying a heartfelt farewell to her is a moment I’ve looked forward to.

Prior to becoming a part of The Neighborhood, Behrs gained significant recognition for portraying the character Caroline Channing in the sitcom 2 Broke Girls, which spanned over six seasons until it unexpectedly ended in 2017.

During her time at The Neighborhood, Behrs expressed that the last seven years had significantly influenced and shaped her life.

She remarked that these years have been particularly unforgettable for her, recognizing the remarkable tenacity of the show in overcoming significant obstacles within the entertainment industry.

After facing challenges like Covid, strikes, and elections, we emerged more resilient,” Behrs penned. “Deeply appreciative of our entire team. Here’s to an exceptional eighth season; let’s make it happen!

2 Broke Girls, a sitcom previously starring Kat Dennings alongside Danica McKellar, was unexpectedly ended by CBS in 2017 after six seasons. Despite being well-liked and having a dedicated audience, the network opted not to renew it, leaving both fans and the cast without a fitting farewell. The show, produced by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings, revolved around two waitresses trying to establish a cupcake business while dealing with their financial struggles. The abrupt termination left the series incomplete, making Danica’s chance to bid a proper adieu on The Neighborhood all the more significant.
