It appears that the upcoming monsters for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to arrive through free updates, may have been unveiled.
Capcom’s newest addition to their popular action RPG series can be played on the PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers, featuring a grand total of 47 monsters for enthusiasts to hunt down from the beginning.
While Monster Hunter Wilds has made a remarkable debut within its franchise, marking a significant milestone, it’s important to note that this is merely the beginning of its journey. Already in the pipeline are updates for Monster Hunter Wilds, which will introduce an array of new items, quests, and rare monsters to pursue.
2 New Monsters Coming to Monster Hunter Wilds
In the aftermath of Monster Hunter Wilds’ launch, it has been unveiled that two fresh monsters will be incorporated into the game through upcoming free updates, sparking speculation among fans as to their potential identities.
In relation to the initial community update for the first week of the game, Capcom announced their upcoming modifications for the highly popular role-playing game. Among these plans were details about the addition of two new creatures in their significant seasonal updates.
In the bloom of Spring, you can expect our initial free update, which includes the premiere of Mizutsune – a colossal sea monster that made its debut back in 2015’s “Monster Hunter Generations”.
It’s been verified that the Mizutsune update will not only introduce fresh event quests (presumably centered around the popular bubble fox wyvern), but also further game enhancements, and novel items that can be made using resources obtained from defeating the new monster.
The summer update didn’t explicitly state which new monster would be introduced, only confirming that one was coming. Yet, it did subtly reveal an icon for the creature, which has led many to speculate that it might be a recurring character from the series, namely Lagiacrus.
The sea wyvern with a scaled body has been featured across various Monster Hunter games throughout time, making its initial appearance in Monster Hunter 3, which was launched on the Nintendo Wii.
If it turns out that the mysterious creature is indeed Lagiacrus, as some believe, it would be a significant milestone for dedicated Monster Hunter enthusiasts. Originally slated to debut in Monster Hunter World back in 2018, the beast was unfortunately removed due to complications with its animations.
It’s been approximately ten years since we last encountered the monster within the franchise; the last appearance was in 2017’s game titled “Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
Further details about additional content aren’t revealed yet, but fans can anticipate these two free updates as just the start for the latest monster-hunting game. Lately, Capcom has been offering around 18 months of support for their mainline Monster Hunter games, introducing new monsters every few months.
Additionally, it’s expected that within the next two years, a comprehensive, paid update for the game Wilds will probably be released. This update is likely to introduce numerous new creatures to battle against, similar to the expansion DLC of Monster Hunter Wilds, titled Iceborne.
Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
