  • Inside A Tent: Inside any Tent, whether inside base camp or in a pop-up camp, you can see the option to ‘Return From Quest’ under the Quest Menu.

Reasons To Abandon Quests in Monster Hunter Wilds

There are two main reasons to abandon quests in Monster Hunter Wilds:

Force Change Season and Time of Day

Taking on an Optional Mission within Monster Hunter Wilds automatically adjusts the in-game season and time setting for that specific mission. On the Optional Quest menu, players can preview the season and time of day they’ll encounter during the mission, allowing them to strategize effectively.

The most effective demonstration of its utility is the Nightflower Pollen, an exceptionally scarce artifact, which only emerges during nighttime under a full moon in the season of Abundance in the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest. Players have the option to spend 300 Guild points to wait for this specific moment, but it comes at the cost of 300 Guild Points. While spending such a large number of GP could be beneficial in the short term, players aiming to harvest this item or any other item with limited spawn rates may find themselves spending a considerable amount of money quickly.

If a hunter chooses to embark on an Optional Quest in the Windward Plains, specifically during twilight and when there’s abundance, they won’t need to use any Guild Points for this adventure. Moreover, due to the option to abandon quests, they can repeatedly gather Nightflower Pollen without delay, making the process as many times as they wish.

Reset Resource Spawn Points

In Monster Hunter Wilds, when you undertake an Optional Quest, most in-game resources are renewed. If you decide to leave this quest, the resources will regenerate again, a process that can be repeated once more by starting a new Optional Quest.

Traveling back and forth between regions in the game is a speedier approach for refreshing resources compared to completing and abandoning quests, as it significantly reduces waiting time. This method allows you to quickly fast-travel directly to the specific resource locations instead of having to return to camp first. When you return to your original region after this quick journey, all resources on the map will have respawned.
