THE LAST OF US Season 2 Trailer Shows That Choices Have Terrifying Consequences

As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel the chills running down my spine when I reflect on the gripping words from the latest HBO trailer for “The Last of Us” season two: “You can’t stop this.” However, it’s not these four ominous words that truly send a shiver through me. The trailer is brimming with haunting hints about the harrowing challenges that lie ahead for Joel, Ellie, and every human striving to endure in a world overrun by “monsters.” Just reading “every path has a price” is enough to make my blood run cold.

“Don’t you know what he did?”

In the new sneak peek of HBO’s highly-praised adaptation, brutality and fear seem to rule supreme as we anticipate its return. This preview is brimming with hints for fans of The Last of Us Part II, but even without prior knowledge of the game’s storyline, this trailer alone might leave you feeling uneasy. It subtly suggests that Joel and Ellie will face repercussions stemming from the conclusion of season one, where Joel refused to offer mankind a cure to save her life. He also deceived her about his actions and motives, but just as an unstoppable horde of Infected, the truth is closing in.

“You swore.”

In a new turn of events, the highly-acclaimed series “The Last of Us” hails from co-creators, scriptwriters, and executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The leading roles are played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey who form the central duo in this story. Rejoining the cast for season two are Gabriel Luna as Joel’s younger brother Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Tommy’s wife Maria. Kaitlyn Dever is a fresh addition to the ensemble, taking on the character of Abby Anderson, a significant figure from the second game. Isabela Merced will also be seen in the role of Dina. Other newcomers include Young Mazino, Danny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Joe Pantoliano, Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, Hettienne Park, Robert John Burke, Noah Lamanna, Catherine O’Hara, and Jeffrey Wright.

Season two of the show kicks off with a fresh wave of monstrous attacks when it airs on HBO this coming Sunday, April 13. We’re definitely tuning in. “It won’t deter us.” And nothing will keep us away from catching each episode.
