In the game “Monster Hunter Wilds”, you’ll encounter a diverse array of formidable creatures, ranging from grand wyverns with their regal presence, to enigmatic leviathans and peculiar Temnocerans that resemble insects. Each one presents distinct hurdles for players to conquer, offering valuable rewards upon success.

In the game “Monster Hunter Wilds,” one of the creatures is the webby Nerscylla, and in order to conquer it, it’s essential to understand the nature of the fight ahead.

Where to Find Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds (Location)

In the game, Nerscylla is a distinct creature called a Temnoceran, looking much like arachnids or large bugs. Lala Barina is another notable example of such monsters. You meet Nerscylla about halfway through Chapter 2 (‘Hopes of Home’), during your trek through the Iceshard Cliffs. Surprisingly, it’s Rove, the eloquent Wudwud, who’s been trapped in its web. It’s now your hunter’s duty to rescue him.

Throughout your gaming experience, you’ll get opportunities to battle Nersyclla repeatedly. These encounters can occur through different tasks and side missions that are both mandatory and optional.

Tread with caution, for not only must you face Nerscylla, but also its offspring, the Nerscylla Hatchlings. Fortunately, these hatchlings are manageable and can be eliminated if necessary, providing Monster Broth should it be required.

Best Weapons and Armor for Nerscylla

In a distinct manner unlike other creatures in the game so far, Nerscylla’s vulnerabilities work differently. At the onset of battle, it will be particularly vulnerable to Fire damage because it adorns its body with Gypceros hides. However, once these protective hides are damaged, its primary elemental weakness will shift to Thunder.

You have the choice to carry a weapon infused with either element, but a fire-infused weapon could potentially make the initial part of the battle less challenging since it helps weaken the monster. Quematrice in the Windward Plains is a good source for reliable fire-infused weapons, or you can try Rompopolo in the Oilwell Basin, depending on your character’s class and available equipment.

From my perspective as a fellow gamer, when it comes to your equipment, any armor set with decent defense statistics should suffice, given that Nerscylla’s attacks primarily target status ailments rather than elemental damage. To shield yourself from these harmful debuffs, I would recommend having Gemma craft you a Talisman like the Poison Charm or Sleep Charm. If you don’t have access to one, it’s wise to carry Antidotes with you instead.

Nerscylla Attacks and Weak Points

Nerscylla’s attacks are predominantly physical and aim to cause damaging conditions such as Poison and Sleep. This pairing can be lethal, as if Nerscylla manages to poison you first, followed by putting you to sleep, a powerful strike may ensue, potentially leading to your defeat and being carried away on a cart.

Nersycylla’s Poison Attacks

Nerscylla’s harmful assaults originate from two locations: the row of sharp spikes on its purple-hued back and its extendable jaws tipped with fangs. It aims to lash out with those spikes at its target or ensnare them in a web, followed by closing its fanged jaws around them forcefully.

Nersycylla’s Sleep Attack

In the meantime, its Sleep attack originates from the stinger located on its thorax. It will lift its body to thrust the stinger forward, as shown by a milky blue substance. So, exercise caution when inflicting damage underneath it.

Nersycylla’s Weak Points

When it comes to Nersyclla, identifying where to attack is crucial because it has limited vulnerable spots. Most of its body is tough, but its underside is relatively weak. The pincers are its most notable weak point. Additionally, its left claw, mantle susceptible to fire, and the purple stingers along its back near the head are breakable areas.
