At the SXSW premiere, both Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick graced the red carpet beforehand, making an appearance in connection with the upcoming release of their new movie and the follow-up to the popular 2018 film titled Another Simple Favor.
At the entrance of the venue, whispers circulated suggesting a tense dynamic between the two actresses during the entire event. But, Director Paul Feige put an end to the gossip by addressing and dismissing rumors about a supposed rift between the leading ladies in the film.
Earlier, YouTube personality Melanie King posted a photo featuring actresses from X, claiming that Lively felt apprehensive about walking the red carpet and Kendrick expressed reluctance about working with Lively in the future.
During the Q&A segment at the event, the filmmaker, along with the two leading actors, clarified certain misconceptions. Specifically, he corrected a statement by saying, “Actually, you’re mistaken,” and also addressed rumors about them having conflicts on the film set.
Four children’s mother expressed joy as she reunited with her A Simple Favor co-star, Kendrick, saying it was an “outstanding” experience. Additionally, during their interaction with the audience, Kendrick subtly agreed with a casual “Oh, you know.
In regards to Lively, who stars in The Age of Adeline, this was her initial public engagement during a legal dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. On the red carpet, she posed for photographs but declined to grant interviews to the media outlets.
In the upcoming sequel to “Another Simple Favor,” Emily Nelson makes her reappearance in Stephanie Smothers’ life. The movie’s storyline goes as follows: Stephanie and Emily reunite on the picturesque island of Capri, Italy, where Emily is set to marry a wealthy Italian businessman. Among the lavish attendees, be prepared for murder and deceit to grace this wedding with more unexpected twists and turns than the winding road from Marina Grande to the Capri town square.
Another Simple Favor will be available to stream on Prime Video from May 1.
