According to the spoilers for Kagurabachi Chapter 71, the chapter will be named “Victory.” It starts with a flashback from nine years past. This flashback unveils memories that were locked away in Iori’s mind. In this scene, we find Samura Seiichi hastily making his way to his ex-wife Inori’s residence after learning she had fainted.
Yet, even as a young girl, Iori showed her dissatisfaction towards Samura as her father, as she felt neglected by his prolonged absence in her life. The narrative then shifts to a hospital setting where Iori receives medical attention due to her health issue.
In Kagurabachi Chapter 71, she asks Samura to watch over Iori while she heals, but he declines, explaining that his hands, stained by blood, are unsuitable for holding a daughter. This leaves Inori irritated, as she points out that his younger sister is preoccupied with her responsibilities at Kamunabi, making it difficult for her to care for Iori instead.
Despite the divorce, Inori feels frustrated that Samura refuses to acknowledge his parental responsibilities towards their daughter. On the other hand, Samura continues to grapple with his past, feeling unfit for the task of raising Iori. Later, the two walk in silence through the city streets and eventually reach a dojo.
In a different context, we could say: He presents her to his fellow comrades from Kagurabachi Chapter 71 (spoilers), who extol him as a hero. However, Iori remains indifferent, showing that she is not swayed by her father’s esteemed status. A memory resurfaces where Iori inquires about Samura’s personality with her mother.
Inori straight-out labels him as a particular kind of individual, someone who is shackled by uncertainty due to his past engagement in the Seitei War. She advises Iori against developing romantic feelings for such an individual. Later on, Inori expresses regret to Iori and vows to come back from the hospital fit and well.
Before that point, Iori is requested by her to pay heed to her father’s words. In The Kagurabachi Chapter 71, the spoilers reveal Iori undergoing kendo training with her eyes shut. When Samura inquires about this unusual practice, she clarifies that she desires to engage in combat at parity with her adversaries.
Samura commends Iori’s resolve but suggests she doesn’t shut herself off entirely. He shares that being blind has sharpened his other abilities, yet for Iori, self-blinding isn’t essential to her growth. Encouraged, Iori persists in her training diligently.
Over time, Iori and Samura’s bond deepens in Chapter 71 of Kagurabachi, as they train together, cook meals, and share precious moments. But then, a sad event occurs—Inori passes away. During the funeral, Iori breaks down emotionally, and Samura consoles her, promising to raise Inori well. However, their tranquility doesn’t last long.
Yura, head of Hishaku, visits Samura’s residence, warning of a grave wrongdoing that could lead to national catastrophe. The chilling climax of Chapter 71 in Kagurabachi reveals an image of a devastated city, obliterated by the Shinuchi Enchanted Sword.
