Millie Brown, known for her role in ‘The Electric State’, recently disclosed an interesting detail about her name. She clarified to her followers that her middle name isn’t actually “Bobby”, explaining why she adopted this pseudonym.
In conversation with BuzzFeed UK, the Stranger Things actress admitted that she playfully switched her middle name upon embarking on her acting career. This is a fact she has previously kept private from fans.
Millie shared an interesting fact – her middle name isn’t Bobby as many might think, but rather Bonnie. She exclaimed, “That’s a secret I’ve kept to myself until now, and you’re among the first to know!
This unexpected revelation was made by Chris Pratt, her co-star from The Electric State, about Brown. She admitted that she altered her name when she began acting, simply as a joke or amusement.
At a tender age, Millie Bobby Brown skyrocketed to fame when she started portraying the character Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things back in 2016. Lately, she shared her feelings about leaving the series during the wrapping up of its last season, revealing it was an emotional farewell.
Brown shared with Entertainment Tonight, “For ten years, I’ve poured my life into this project. I started when I was only 10, and the show has been the focus of my entire life. My career has been shaped by it. Saying goodbye is incredibly difficult and emotional.” It took me some time to fully accept and move past all of this, as it truly feels like an ending.
It appears that her last name “Bobby” is likely a tribute to her father, Robert “Bobby” Brown. However, it’s worth noting that she has changed her surname on other occasions as well.
In August 2024, after marrying Jake Bongiovi, she revealed that she had taken his last name. Later on, at age 21, Brown shared a backstage snapshot from Stranger Things Season 5, which featured a blackboard displaying ‘Millie Bobby Brown-Bongiovi.’
Starting on March 14, 2025, fans can catch Millie Bobby Brown back on their screens in the Netflix series “The Electric State,” a blend of science fiction, adventure, comedy, and drama directed by the Russo brothers from Avengers fame. The impressive cast includes Brown along with Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Mackie, and others.
