2020, often referred to as a “dark year,” saw The CW stirring controversy by unveiling plans for a live-action version of the beloved animated series, “The Powerpuff Girls.” While many animated shows could potentially make the transition to live action, this one seemed highly unlikely to do so convincingly and effectively. As it turns out, our skepticism was justified as the series was eventually scrapped during production. With so much else going on since then, we’ve all moved on – that is, until the trailer for The CW’s canceled live-action “Powerpuff Girls” series surfaced. And let me tell you, it’s far from impressive.
I’m just as fond of Donald Faison as anyone else out there, and the same goes for Dove Cameron, whom I know quite well through the Descendants series (don’t judge me too harshly, I have two kids!). Both of them are wonderful and endearing.

Live-Action POWERPUFF GIRLS No Longer in Development
As a film enthusiast, I must confess that I’m less acquainted with the other two actresses, but let me make it clear that I hold no personal grudges against them whatsoever. They undoubtedly gave their all under the circumstances, and the material they were provided wasn’t exactly top-notch.
– The trailer for the abandoned live-action Powerpuff Girls series falls short in every aspect imaginable and appears to be more like a Saturday Night Live skit than a genuine TV show. It seems they’ve strayed far from the original concept, where the Professor aimed to create ordinary girls but ended up with superpowered cuties instead. The end result is perplexing at best. Although there are numerous canceled series that deserved additional episodes, this decision might have been for the better in this case.
It’s uncertain whether this trailer will continue to be available or not. Given that The CW seems uninterested at this point, it’s possible they might even find it amusing to let people see why they decided to cancel the series. Regardless, here’s today’s unusual tidbit for you – enjoy!
