BAMBI: THE RECKONING Trailer Turns a Beloved Buck Into a Toothy Terror

It’s a real shame that the whole concept of the Pooniverse horror crossover feels like an unsettling nightmare we collectively can’t seem to shake off. The notion of transforming cherished characters from our childhood such as Winnie the Pooh, Tinkerbell, and Bambi into killers is disheartening for many. Nevertheless, the intrigue surrounding these films is strong enough that people will continue to watch them, ensuring their production in the near future. The upcoming horror film, Bambi: The Reckoning, looks particularly chilling with its forest-bound trailer.

Just like you might recall, Bambi was the deer whose mother sadly met her end due to a hunter’s bullet. Despite this tragic beginning, Bambi eventually matured into a fine stag, found love, and ascended to the position of Forest’s Ruler. The tale concluded on a positive note, providing us all with a sense of contentment as we drifted off to sleep.

In “Bambi: The Reckoning,” Bambi’s sorrow takes an unexpected turn, as depicted in this chilling trailer. After losing his mother, it appears that Bambi is on a mission to kill any human who encounters him. He has grown enormously with teeth resembling razors. Oh my, what a terrifying sight! This is not the deer you’d ever want to come across.

It is pretty short but here’s a synopsis from Jagged Edge Productions:

Following a car collision, a mother and her son find themselves pursued by Bambi, a genetically altered, vengeful deer driven by grief, who is on a lethal spree in retaliation for the loss of his own mother.

As a keen observer, I cannot help but wonder about the circumstances that led to Bambi’s mutation. However, I am certain that human actions are behind it, as they so often are in such scenarios. Frankly, it’s no surprise that Bambi might feel compelled to seek vengeance given the impact we humans have had on his world.

In the upcoming movie titled “Bambi: The Reckoning“, you’ll find Roxanne Mckee, Tom Mulheron, Nicola Wright, Samira Mighty, and Alex Cooke gracing the screen. Unfortunately, a definite release date for this film has yet to be announced; however, it is expected to premiere in summer 2025.
