Oscars 2025: Conan O’Brien Jokes Kendrick Lamar Might Pop Out to Diss Drake Amid Hollywood’s Biggest Night

Conan O’Brien shared some captivating thoughts during the 97th Academy Awards, referencing Kendrick Lamar‘s latest Grammy-winning song and expressing enthusiasm about Drake.

During the resumption of the event following an intermission, when everyone was eagerly anticipating a fresh victor to be announced on stage, O’Brien declared that the award ceremony had reached its halfway mark. Additionally, he made a controversial statement, suggesting that it was now appropriate to label Drake as a “pedophile.

In case you missed it, Conan O’Brien mentioned Kendrick Lamar (also known as K. Dot) during his performance at the Super Bowl halftime show last month. This was when he implied that Drake was a predator, although Kendrick originally didn’t say the word on stage.

In the process, Conan O’Brien made it clear to both his live audience and television viewers that he had sought legal advice prior to making jokes about the track Not Like Us, ensuring he was well-protected during his appearance on the show.

Additionally, as the audience was both amazed and amused by the joke, the host went on to make additional comments regarding other celebrities. Unsurprisingly, O’Brien didn’t mince words when he made a jest about Karla Sofía Gascón’s racially insensitive post.

Well, the Emilia Perez actress was right in the audience when the host made the joke.

Ever since the artist behind “We Cry Together” released his diss track aimed at Drake, the nickname “Rich Baby Daddy” has become a popular subject of humor on numerous special events. It’s worth noting that after the release of “Not Like Us”, Kendrick Lamar garnered multiple wins in various categories during the Grammy Awards.

In seven categories, Lamar received nominations; however, he ended up taking home five Grammy Awards, also winning for Best Song of the Year.

The 97th Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.
