95-year-old Gene Hackman, along with his spouse and pet dog, tragically passed away on Wednesday. Their bodies were found in their residence in New Mexico.

As the renowned actor and his wife were mourned, their close friend shared with TMZ that Betsy Arakawa diligently enforced a disciplined diet and fitness routine for The French Connection star. Doug Lanham disclosed to the media outlet that Betsy was deeply committed to maintaining her husband’s well-being, emphasizing her seriousness in this regard.

The source went on to reveal that Hackman was given permission to indulge in occasional treat meals exclusively during his golf outings with friends. Lanham further mentioned that, when dining at Jinja Bar and Bistro, a place he jointly owned with the deceased actor, Hackman consistently opted for the most nutritious menu items.

To add, Hackman valued keeping fit for his well-being. It was mentioned that he was remarkably healthy given his age. Additionally, Doug stated that he enjoyed practicing Pilates and yoga regularly.

It wasn’t until late Thursday night, about a day after the initial discovery, that the local sheriff informed the press that the couple and their pet had already passed away when police arrived at the scene earlier on Wednesday. The authorities were present at the location on Wednesday but couldn’t positively identify the bodies until 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.

In his declaration, the sheriff additionally noted that no indications of injuries from outside sources or any suspicious circumstances were discovered in their demise.

Hackman is survived by his three children, whom he shared with his ex-wife.
