So far, but not anymore with “Monster Hunter Wilds”. Now, you can dive right into a hunt whenever a monster appears, and drop by any camp you’ve set up at your convenience. However, remember that you need to locate them first, as the Iceshard Cliffs are quite expansive, so let’s embark on a camping adventure.

What Are Pop-Up Camps?

In the spirit of immersing you deeper into their virtual world, Wilds introduces Pop-Up Camps as miniature versions of Base Camps. Although it may not offer the extensive services like Gemma’s blacksmithing, it provides almost everything else you might require, such as preparing meals and modifying your gear. Once you’ve scouted a suitable location for a Pop-Up Camp, you have two options to set it up.

  • Heading to the Support Felyne in change of Pop-Up Camps at each Base Camp and choosing the areas to establish these camps from the locations you’ve discovered.
  • By using the portable Camp set-up kit at any location that a Pop-Up Camp can be built, which calls in a pair of Felynes to build it immediately.

If all the spots at Pop-Up Camp are taken, you’ll have to replace the existing ones by removing older ones to accommodate the new ones back at Base Camp.

Absolutely, such territories are home to creatures that may not appreciate human presence, especially if you’re setting up a camp nearby. If these beasts detect your camp, there’s a high likelihood they will demolish it. Therefore, consider this factor when choosing a location, as the safety level suggests.
